It is back to school time. This is a great time to get your kids or yourself into a martial arts program. I was born in 1975. THE martial art of my childhood was Karate. Anyone from my generation knew not to mess with anyone who practiced Karate. Well, it is 2013 and I can say with zero doubt that Karate is no longer the king of martial arts. What has replaced Karate? BJJ Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, also called Gracie Jiu Jitsu. If you have a child in need of a confidence boost try BJJ. If YOU have ever wanted to practice a martial art (we all have). I urge you to try BJJ. BJJ will change your life in ways that you can not imagine.

Do a Google search for a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school in your area. Do some research on the school. Be sure that the head instructor is a purple, brown or black belt in BRAZILIAN or GRACIE Jiu Jitsu. Beware of phonies - there are MANY out there. Visit the school. Take a class or two. Hopefully you will find a reputable school that you and/or your kids can join and begin a journey into the world of BJJ.
