Boomers Blog – 8-25-13
It is back to school time. This is a great time to get your kids or yourself into a martial arts program. I was born in 1975. THE martial art of my childhood was Karate. Anyone from my generation knew not to mess with anyone who practiced Karate. Well, it is 2013 and I can say with zero doubt that Karate is no longer the king of martial arts. What has replaced Karate? BJJ – Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, also called Gracie Jiu Jitsu. If you have a child in need of a confidence boost – try BJJ. If YOU have ever wanted to practice a martial art (we all have). I urge you to try BJJ. BJJ will change your life in ways that you can not imagine.
Do a Google search for a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school in your area. Do some research on the school. Be sure that the head instructor is a purple, brown or black belt in BRAZILIAN or GRACIE Jiu Jitsu. Beware of phonies - there are MANY out there. Visit the school. Take a class or two. Hopefully you will find a reputable school that you and/or your kids can join and begin a journey into the world of BJJ.
